Blake Coleman is generating trade interest
James Murphy of RG Media: 34-year-old Calgary Flames forward Blake Coleman carries a $4.9 million cap hit and is generating interest around the league, according to multiple sources. One NHL executive added:
“He’s a guy I think teams believe they could acquire for a lesser price than Kadri and Andersson, but a guy that also knows how to win.”
Another said that Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving is a fan of Cole and is interested.
Another source said that the Leafs aren’t alone, as the Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, Utah Mammoth, and Carolina Hurricanes have some level of interest. There isn’t anything imminent. The cost to acquire Coleman is less than it would be Nazem Kadri or Rasmus Andersson.”
