The Chicago Blackhawks would be interested in Alex Tuch or Jason Robertson

NHL Watcher: Matt Marchese on The Fan Hockey Show said that pending UFA Alex Tuch would be a good fit for the Chicago Blackhawks. Elliotte Friedman added:

“I think that’s a good guess. I think Chicago would have interest in Jason Robertson too if he ever became available or if Dallas didn’t think they could do it”

Why would the Toronto Maple Leafs even be looking to trade Matthew Knies?

Jay On SC: Frankie Corrado on the Jay Onrait Show on Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies and if they should be looking to move him.

NHL Rumors: Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota Wild

Corrado: “He’s such a, he’s a unique brand of player. I’m not saying you never trade him, but he’s in the prime of his career. He’s only going to get better at this point. It had, would have to be a haul, and then some, to even consider that, if you’re Toronto.”

Onrait: “So, I guess that my follow-up question is, you obviously feel like they should just not trade him at all. Like, hold, and I guess that’s what was a bit head-scratching to me. As you look at all the players on the roster, he’s probably the one you’d want to keep the most. He’s under control.”

Corrado: “Right?”

Onrait: “He’s young, he didn’t have the best season last year. So what? He’s young.”

Corrado: “The whole team had a bad season last year. Like, it’s I think it’s unfair to look at Matthew Knies and say that, well, that’s what he’s going to be, because he doesn’t have Mitch Marner anymore.”

Onrait: “Right?”

The team was like analytically terrible, right across the board. There was players that had some of the worst seasons of their career. So I think with Matthew Nyes, there is, there’s definitely a limit to how much production he can have, but it’s more than that.

NHL Rumors: Leafs and McKenna, Senators and DeBusk, Red Wings and Pettersson

It’s the body, the physicality, the way he plays the game. If you move off from that Matthew Knies, you’re going to be looking for another Matthew Knies. And he’s still young enough that you have a lot of runway here, even if there are some moves that happen that change the complexion of the team.”
