Elliotte Friedman: Thatcher Demko told the Canucks he’ll need at least a week to decide to go pro or not.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: It’s likely that Dave Cameron has coached his last game in Ottawa. If they move on from Cameron, it will be the Senators seventh coaching change since 2007. If the Bruins fire Claude Julien, the Senators might be one option for Julien.

Owner Eugene Melnyk expects the Senators to make the playoffs. The roster is due for some changes.

Patrick Wiercioch likely won’t received a qualifying offer.

Alex Chiasson is on thin ice.

They need to make a bigger change than those though.

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: Chris Phillips may be forced to retire due to his injury. He wasn’t able to play at all this past season. He had back surgery, but it wasn’t able to fix his issue. He was able to take a little skate with team after Thursday’s game, saluting the fans. It could be his last time in a Senators uniform
