Islanders hope to keep their big four UFAs
Brett Cygalis of the NY Post: The New York Islanders have four big pending unrestricted free agents to make decisions on this offseason – Anders Lee, Jordan Eberle, Brock Nelson, and Robin Lehner.
“Evaluation is an interesting word, because it’s every day, it’s ongoing,” Lamoriello said. “As far as evaluation, I know everyone is talking about our free agents. We want to keep them and we’ll try. But they’re focused — and we’re focused — on the task at hand right now, and that’s Game 2.”
Brett Cygalis of the NY Post: Pending free agent Jordan Eberle has two goals in two playoff games so far. He had a bit of down year but did score five goals in their final seven games. The soon to be 29-year old should get plenty of interest if he hits the open market.
“It’s not like I’m going on the ice thinking about my contract. I don’t think about it at all, to be honest,” Eberle said Friday morning. “You kind of just let things happen as they do. I think the biggest thing is when you’re a kid, you dream of playing in the playoffs, and that chance is here. The farther you go as a team, the better it is for the individual.”
