NHL Rumors: Golden Knights, Senators, Hurricanes, Leafs, Lightning, Blue Jackets and the Coyotes

The Vegas Golden Knights are back in on Mark Stone.
Vegas re-enters Stone talks

Elliotte Friedman: There is word this morning that Vegas Golden Knights have re-entered the Mark Stone trade talk.

Bruce Garrioch: Lots of focus on Stone today and the market is strong. There are eight teams that are showing serious interest and the price is still high. It could go down to the wire.

Golden Knights Plan A and Plan B

Pierre LeBrun: Sense that Plan A for the Golden Knights is Mark Stone, with Plan B being Micheal Ferland.

That said the Carolina Hurricanes may not be interested in trading Ferland as they are still in the playoff race and may not want to mess with their team chemistry.

Maple Leafs and Lightning checking in on McQuaid

Shawn Hutcheon: League sources are saying that that the consensus has had New York Rangers defenseman Adam McQuaid heading to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Tampa Bay Lightning have called the Rangers about him.

Blue Jackets Milano could be had

Aaron Portzline: May not be much of surprise but it’s sounding like forward prospect and former first-round pick Sonny Milano is available. They are not expecting a first-round pick in return.

Milano has been out for most of the past six weeks with a concussion and hand/wrist injury. He should be able to return in a week or two.

Aaron Portzline: Milano will require waivers next season to be sent to the AHL. So if they don’t see him playing regularly in the NHL next year, could look for an asset as opposed to possibly losing for nothing next fall.

Coyotes not looking to move Fischer despite report

Andy Strickland: Have heard Arizona Coyotes Christian Fischer‘s name out there.

Craig Morgan: Have been told that there is no truth to the report that Fischer is available. He’s been a healthy scratch the past two games but there have been no talks to move him, and the Coyotes have no intention of moving him.
