Would the San Jose Sharks be looking to make a big splash on their blue line, or would they prefer to remain patient?
The Sheet with Jeff Marek: Drew Remenda when asked if the San Jose Sharks should be looking to make a bigger move, to make a big splash in the West, or do they remain patient.
Greg Wyshynski: “Do they go knock, knock, knocking on, on Nashville’s door and see if there’s a way, if things fall apart for the Predators, to get Roman Josi out of there?
Like, like, do they have to go find that guy, do you think in order to really, really level up as a contender in the West, or can they be patient and maybe find the answer internally?”
Remenda: “I think that they are very patient about their growing their prospects. And we’ve seen it with what they’ve done with Sam (Dickinson) being in and out of lineup early in the season. What they did with Will Smith last year. Shakir Mukhamadullin. Those, even Luca Cagnoni, who’s playing very well in, with the Barracuda in the AHL.
NHL Rumors: New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils
But I don’t know, I imagine Greg, once they get to that point where they think they’re going to be looking for a stud Dman to put the points up, because we do not produce a lot from the point. Except for night, where we went crazy and Mario and Vinny got goals. They don’t produce a lot from the point. We’re one, I think we’re one of the lowest scoring teams, as a matter of fact, from defenseman.
So I imagine that’s on their agenda, but I don’t know if they would be looking to, to make a big, big move at, and sacrifice what they’ve got right now, as far as that chemistry goes, as far as that culture goes, as far as some of the personnel that they think that they can grow it.”
