Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: Penguins upper management is keeping quiet regarding their GM search. Chatter yesterday was that they could be close to naming a new GM, and that Jason Botterill, Julien BriseBois and Pierre McGuire were the finalists. If the new GM was to fire Dan Bylsma, he could likely be hired by the Panthers quickly after.
Rob Rossi: Sounding like the Penguins have not had permission to speak with Rangers assistant GM Jeff Gorton.
James Mirtle: Red Wings AHL coach Jeff Blashill signed a three year contract, but Mirtle thinks he’s likely to have some out clauses.
