On Jaromir Jagr …
Zdenek Janda: Jaromir Jagr won’t play for Kladno today as potential NHL teams that he’s been talking to wouldn’t be happy if he played.
Kathryn Tappen: Rumor is that Jagr and his camp are negotiating with three NHL teams.
Jeremy Roenick: Jagr is having contract talks with three teams.
On Matt Duchene …
Mike Chambers: Matt Duchene said that he is not ready to update his situation with the Avalanche.
Chris Nichols: Bob McKenzie on the Duchene trade front on TSN 1050: “Haven’t heard anything at all”
Chris Nichols: McKenzie on Duchene: “I’m sure there’s teams still talking to Colorado, but it’s not an easy deal to make.”
Chris Nichols: Elliotte Friedman on Sportsnet 960: “We’re all sitting there watching Duchene. I haven’t heard a ton on him in the last couple of days.”
Chris Nichols of FanRag Sports: Elliotte Friedman was on 630 CHED and was asked about the Matt Duchene trade front heading into this weekend.
Friedman senses that it’s quiet. Duchene is likely hoping that a deal can done before the start of the season, and the Avs would likely be okay with that if they got a deal they liked.
“I still think Columbus is very, very much in it. I think that they have made it very clear he’s a guy they want and I don’t think they’re far away.
“I still think Nashville is circling. I think Calgary has been in and out, I think Anaheim has been in and out. Anaheim, especially now that Kesler is hurt and missing some time, I think they’re around and they’re a team that could make that deal.”
“I just think Colorado has set the bar and they’re not coming underneath that bar, and ‘We’re open anytime you want to jump over it.’
