Callie Parmele of NHL.com: Goaltender Semyon Varlamov returned to practice. He’s been out since January 2nd with a lower-body injury.
Tyson Barrie has been out since December 23rd with a broken hand.
“He will be a decision tomorrow at some point,” Bednar said of Barrie. “See how he comes through today’s practice.”
Forward Colin Wilson and J.T. Compher returned to practice. They’ve been out with an illness.

Curtis Zupke: The Kings put Jonathan Quick on the IR retroactive to January 24th.
Jon Rosen: Sounding like Jeff Carter will skate today, though he’s not ready to join teammates just yet. Traveling with the team on their father’s trip.
Jon Rosen of the LA Kings Insider: Forward Nick Shore has a lower-body injury and is day-to-day as opposed to week-to-week according to coach John Stevens.
Defenseman Derek Forbort has an upper-body injury but was able to practice.

“I think it was just a point in time we felt like he could really use some maintenance in his … health, and really with the heavy schedule coming in front of us, he just had some things that needed maintenance,” Stevens said. “I don’t think it’s anything long-term. I think with the rest he’s had, he’s had lots of rehab over the break. Gets him a chance to get on the ice and get some really good work along with the rehab, I think it’ll put him back in a really healthy position coming out of the break.”
