Chris Daniels of King5.com: Chris Hansen and an investment team said yesterday that they don’t need public funding to build a new arena in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood.

The group sent a letter to the city saying they would build the arena “at no cost to the City or the County.” The original proposal had them asking the city and county for $200 million in bonds. The Group is asking the city “to vacate a one-block stretch of Occidental Avenue and the addition of several tax credits.”

Steve Carp: “Bear in mind that Chris Hansen’s Seattle Arena decision is NBA, not NHL driven.”
