NHL Rumors: Lee, Panarin, Ceci, Granlund, Hainsey, McElhinney and Domingue

Reports have Anders Lee up around $9 million per
Big numbers for Lee coming?

Aaron Portzline: “Hearing UFA F Anders Lee could top $9 million AAV when he signs today. Do not expect the to part of the bidding at that level.”

Habs Links: Bob McKenzie on TSN 690: “Anders Lee will be looking for a 7 year deal in the $7-8 million range. If the Isles don’t land Panarin, there’s still a chance he goes back home to NYI.”

On Panarin

David Pagnotta: “Getting the sense this morning it’s down to the Islanders vs. Rangers for Panarin at this point, barring a new last-minute pitch from Panthers.”

Larry Brooks: “Sounds like $12m per is magic # for Panarin. Trouba is going to come in at close to $8m. NYR have about $18.4 of space and don’t have Buchnevich, Lemieux, DeAngelo signed yet. Cap space presumes Smith in AHL.”

Larry Brooks: “Rangers have not been eliminated by Panarin—at least have not been told as much—but at this point he has higher offers. Remains to be seen whether JD ups bid…If Panarin wanted to stay in Columbus, likely would have been done by midnight for 8th year.”

On Ceci and the Maple Leafs

Darren Dreger: “Yes, Ceci verbally agreed to a one year, $4.5 million contract with the Leafs. Arb case likely would have come in above that and that wouldn’t have worked for Toronto. Good opportunity for Ceci to raise his market value.”

On Granlund and the Oilers

Bob McKenzie: “Markus Granlund will be heading to EDM on a one year deal.”

Hainsey getting a nice deal from the Senators

Pierre LeBrun: “The expected AAV for Hainsey In Ottawa is $3.5 M”

Domingue could be on the move

Pierre LeBrun: “Hearing Tampa Bay is the front-runner to land UFA goalie Curtis McElhinney. Not a done deal yet but the Lightning right now are most likely destination.”

Joe Smith: “Would think moves Domingue if McElhinney indeed signs today (our reporting TB is frontrunner for veteran UFA backup). Domingue has one year left on deal at $1.15 million AAV. Revived career with Tampa. McElhinney doesn’t sign to be TB’s No. 3 guy.”
