NHL Rumors: Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers

Slava Voynov and Tyler Toffoli of the Los Angeles Kings

On the Los Angeles Kings …

Dennis Bernstein: LA Kings pending RFA Tyler Toffoli could be looking at another bridge contract if he doesn’t pick up his goal scoring production.

Andy Tonge of Mayors Manor: John Hoven was on NHL Network Radio with Jonathan Davis talking about the Kings and Slava Voynov. **Below is not a direct quote from Hoven, Davis or Tonge. Summary of the Voynov situation on the site.

“The comment about Slava Voynov was not meant to suggest that bringing him back to the NHL would be an easy one. There still are immigration issues to resolve and a league suspension to deal with. At least in LA, the belief (hope?) has long been that Voynov would be allowed to play in the NHL again once his other issues were adequately resolved, most likely ending with a 20-game suspension before he is allowed to suit up for games again. The real point to be taken from this spot is that Kings management, namely AEG owner Phil Anschutz would no longer block his hockey club from allowing such a move to take place. At this point, the ball is in the court of Voynov and his legal team. They need to somehow find a way to get his papers in order, paving the way for his return to North America.”

On the Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers …

The Fourth Period: The Kings and Rangers may talking about a potential trade. The Rangers have been scouting the Kings and their AHL affiliate recently. It’s not known what they could be talking about as both are playoff teams.

The Rangers are said to be looking for a depth forward and a defenseman. The Kings are looking for a top-line left winger, a bottom-six forward and a second pairng defenseman.
