On the Boston Bruins …

Darren Dreger: Contract negotiations between the Bruins and Loui Eriksson are ongoing, but it’s believed that there is a significant gap in both term and money.

Kevin Paul Dupont: Suspected asking price for Eriksson is five years and between $33 to $37 million.

Jimmy Murphy: Belief around the league is that the Bruins could wait until deadline day to trade Loui Eriksson where his value could be the highest.

Jimmy Murphy: If the Bruins are able to get a first round pick for Eriksson, they should trade him. That would give them three first round picks.

Jimmy Murphy: If they get first for Eriksson and don’t trade one now, they could try to use a first at the draft to get a defenseman.

Pierre LeBrun of ESPN: Think the most likely scenario with the Bruins and Eriksson is a trade, even if they are in a playoff spot.Sources saying that the Bruins are very active on the phones. They are gauging trade interest in Eriksson, as well as seeing what pieces they might be able to add, especially on the blueline.They have their own and the Sharks first round pick, so they don’t need another first in an Eriksson trade if they could get back a young player. Another option could be to get a first round pick for Eriksson and then flip the pick for a defenseman.
