The Maple Leafs have investigated a Subban deal
Sportsnet: P.K. Subban‘s name hit the rumor mill again today and sources have told Elliotte Friedman that the Toronto Maple Leafs have investigated if a Subban trade would make sense.
Both teams have cap issues. A Maple Leafs move is “dependent upon a resolution to Mitch Marner‘s contract negotiations.”
The Vancouver Canucks are also believed to looking into Subban.
Panthers looking to move Reimer
Pierre LeBrun: The Florida Panthers are still trying to trade goaltender James Reimer.
Reimer has two years left on his contract at a $3.4 million salary cap hit but a $3.1 salary.
If they aren’t able to trade him a buyout would be an option for the Panthers.
Jim Matheson: is sure the Panthers and Oilers have talked about Reimer. Unless the Panthers would take back Brandon Manning‘s $2.25 million contract, it would be a non-starter. Reimer’s cap hit through next season is very problematic.
Jonathan Willis: Reimer would be an ideal fit for the Oilers, especially if they took a contract like Manning’s back.
Dave Isaac: Philadelphia Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher has said they could look at the goalie trade market. Would they be interested in James Reimer?
Wild still shopping Zucker
Renaud Lavoie: Will Jason Zucker get traded today? He’s still being shopped by the Minnesota Wild. No one really expects him to back with the Wild next season.
Keep an eye on the Coyotes
Renaud Lavoie: The Arizona Coyotes are another team to watch as they may be looking to be aggressive with the new ownership coming in.
Chiarelli a possibility for three teams
Jim Matheson: Peter Chiarelli’s name has already been linked to the Vancouver Canucks, but have also heard he’s a possibility with the St. Louis Blues and Ottawa Senators.
After the Oilers had fired him, he was around St. Louis for a bit.
