Kristen Shilton: Maple Leafs GM Lou Lamoriello when has asked about how RFAs Connor Brown and Zach Hyman contact negotiations were going: “they’ll be here in October.”

Sarah McLellan: Contract negotiatons are are ongoing for Coyotes RFAs Anthony Duclair and Jordan Martinook.

On the Boston Bruins …

Ty Anderson: The Bruins are still talking to Drew Stafford‘s camp. They are going to be patient on the free agent market and will be shifting their attention to their RFAs.

Matt Kalman of CBS Boston: The Bruins signed right handed defenseman Paul Postma and left winger Kenny Agostino yesterday. Not big names – GM Don Sweeney did look – but avoided the bidding wars.

“We made offers to players that have signed elsewhere, again for different reasons,” Sweeney said. “It’s entirely up to the player themselves, whether the term wasn’t right, whether the dollars weren’t right or whether the location wasn’t right. There was nothing … off the top off of my head that would’ve scared us off of a particular player. We’ve got some long-term projections and some short-term ones that we’ve done a lot of work on.”

On the Los Angeles Kings …

Helene Elliott: The LA Kings won’t be re-signing winger Jarome Iginla. GM Rob Blake yesterday: ‘He was terrific for our organization.’

Dennis Bernstein: GM Blake hinted yesterday that the roster they currently have could be the same as what they start the season with. Newly signed Mike Cammalleri will get a shot on the wing with Anze Kopitar.

On the New York Rangers …

Dan Rosen: The Rangers still have a hole at center that they need to fill after trading Derek Stepan, but they filled the massive hole by signing Kevin Shattenkirk with Stepan’s cap hit gone.

On the Calgary Flames …

Pat Steinberg: Flames GM Brad Treliving says they have a “depth signing in the hopper.”
