NHL Rumors: Matt Duchene – Blue Jackets, Bruins and Predators … Kruger Trade Hang Up

Matt Duchene trade notes involving the Nashville Predators, Columbus Blue Jackets and Boston Bruins
On Matt Duchene …

Adrian Dater: Was hearing (last night) that nothing was imminent with regards to Matt Duchene. There is trade talk and parties are thinking about it.

On Duchene and the Columbus Blue Jackets …

Aaron Portzline: Have been told that the Avalanche asked the Blue Jackets for Gabriel Carlsson. isn’t sure if that is Carlsson instead of Ryan Murray or if it’s for Carlsson and Murray.

On Duchene and the Boston Bruins …

Aaron Portzline: Have been told that talks between the Avalanche and Bruins regarding Duchene involves Brandon Carlo as the main piece leaving the Bruins.

On the Nashville Predators …

Bob McKenzie: The Predators plan for now is to keep Alexei Emelin and their roster intact for the added depth on the blueline.

Bob McKenzie: Things can obviously change quickly, but don’t get the sense that the Predators got close on a Matt Duchene trade with the Colorado Avalanche.

David Amber: Still confident that the Predators will be able to work something out with the Avs for Duchene. The Preds are motivated and so is the Duchene camp.

Adam Vingan: Predators GM David Poile when asked yesterday if he had a sense where the salaries for Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson could end up while laughing: “Not based on early discussions.”

Brooks Bratten: GM Poile said there is still lots going on around the league and they could still make another move.

On the Chicago Blackhawks and Vegas Golden Knights …

Scott Powers of The Athletic Chicago: A trade between the Blackhawks and Golden Knights involving Marcus Kruger has been rumored for a long time.

Kruger was due a $2 million signing bonus on July 1st which was believed to be holding things up according to a source.

Another wrinkle just added is that on July 1st Kruger’s modified no trade clause kicked. He can list seven teams that he can’t be traded to. As of yesterday morning Kruger hadn’t been asked by the Blackhawks for his list of teams.
