NHL Rumors: Markov, Radulov, Alzner, Franson and Golden Knights

Andrei Markov is looking for two years at $6 million a season, too much for the Montreal Canadiens?
On Andrei Markov …

Renaud Lavoie: Sources saying that pending UFA defenseman Andrei Markov is looking for a two-year deal at a $6 million cap hit.

L.A. Lariviere: If Markov is looking for a two-year deal at $6 million, he won’t be finishing his career with the Canadiens.

Pierre LeBrun: Markov who is looking for a two-year deal is representing himself in contract talks.

On the Montreal Canadiens …

Eric Engels: A few thoughts on the Montreal Canadiens …

“1. Of course Andrei Markov wants two years. A lot more risk in that for Bergevin, but look at his D core. What choice will he have?

2. Ideal world for Bergevin has Markov on the year to year Lidstrom plan. There’s never been much threat in him leaving Can he be convinced?

3. Still believe likeliest landing spot for Radulov is MTL.But every passing day makes it more likely he gets 5-yr deal than habs-friendly 4.

4. Think Galchenyuk is in holding pattern til Radulov is dealt w. Also, mtl’s asking price in trade, which is very high, obviously wasn’t met

5. Obviously a real possibility Galchenyuk stays put, but let’s not forget about Subban not getting traded at draft then moving days later.”

David Pagnotta:  Karl Alzner told Le Journal de Morteal that he is interested in signing with the Canadiens.

On Alexander Radulov

Pierre LeBrun: 10 or 11 teams have contacted Alexander Radulov so far. He isn’t planning on visiting any cities as of yet. He wants to keep the Canadiens in the mix.

On Cody Franson

David Pagnotta: Defenseman Cody Franson is getting interest during the free agent interview window. He’s coming off a two-year deal and could be looking for a longer-term on his next contract.

On the Vegas Golden Knights …

Frank Seravalli: The Golden Knight will continue to try and trade Alexei Emelin and Luca Sbisa. The other eight or nine defensemen they have on their roster are likely to stay.
