Predators GM says trade options are there

Brooks Bratten: Nashville Predators GM David Poile was on 1025 The Game on Thursday that there are some pretty good trade options available but the price has to be right. “Right now, I want to see our team and I want to see us get healthy… But we always like to do something to help our team going into the playoffs.”

Adam Vingan: Poile before Thursday’s game: “I want to see how we do tonight against Winnipeg. I want to see after the game if we’re feeling good about our team or we’re feeling that we have some weakness. The second part is I’d really like to get healthy.”

Thomas Willis: Poile said that it is possible that Dante Fabbro joins the team after his College season is over.

Predators could use some size

Adam Vingan of The Tennessean: John Glennon pointed out that the Winnipeg Jets have two players under six feet tall, while the Predators have nine.

GM David Poile be looking at some trade options to close this gap.

The Predators have been connected Philadelphia Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds who would bring them size and work on his power play.

The Predators need to make sure they don’t overpay for him. Carolina Hurricanes Micheal Ferland could be another option.

Beaulieu didn’t demand a trade, he’s just looking for an opportunity to play

John Wawrow of the AP: The agent for Buffalo Sabres defenseman Nathan Beaulieu said that he didn’t demand a trade but asked that if he’s going to be a part of their future and playing a bigger role, they could move him.

“He’s not unhappy with Buffalo, he’s just looking for more of an opportunity to play,” Hughes said by phone.

Beaulieu is in a contract and has played in just 26 games this season. He’s been a healthy scratch of late.
