Rick Nash on his way to the Boston Bruins?
Darren Dreger: The Bruins definitely have interest in forward Rick Nash. Talks are ongoing to the Bruins need to make the cap work.
Joe McDonald: Bruins GM Don Sweeney on Nash trade rumors: “Talked to a lot of teams. Not denying I called the Rangers. Nothing to report tonight.”
Bob McKenzie: If the Bruins and Rangers are able to get a deal done, the Rangers may be getting a first-round pick and a solid prospect in return.
Bob McKenzie: Not a surprise that the Bruins are a front-runner for Nash. They have their own first-round pick and solid prospects like Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson, Ryan Lindgren, and Trent Frederic.
Jimmy Murphy: The Bruins could be giving up a first-round pick, Trent Frederic and more. Bruins need to move out salary.
Cap Friendly: “We currently project the #Bruins as having $491,370 in available cap space, which is the equivalent of a $2,176,067 cap hit. Rick Nash has a cap hit of $7.8M, which as of tonight translates to $1,761,290 as the amount of cap space needed to acquire the pending UFA forward.”
David Pagnotta: With the Bruins salary cap situation, they may need the Rangers to retain a good chuck of his salary. Could still be hard for the Bruins to pull off.
David Pagnotta: Bruins GM Don Sweeney said before last night’s game that if the right rental deal presented itself, they’d consider. Sounds like they are closing in on a deal.
Jim Matheson: Sure that the Bruins would like the Rangers to take Matt Beleskey’s contract as well as some good prospects.
Larry Brooks: The Bruins have been in on Nash and defenseman Ryan McDonagh for a couple weeks. There also had some interest in Michael Grabner.
Jimmy Murphy: Yesterday was hearing that Mats Zuccarello‘s name came up in Rangers-Bruins talks, but not sure how interested the Bruins were.
