NHL Rumors: Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Chicago Blackhawks

The Ottawa Senators have other players they can trade aside from Mark Stone and Ryan Dzingel.
Stone costs Duchene return plus, and two possible destinations

Shawn Simpson: The only way that Mark Stone signs an extension with the Ottawa Senators is if his representatives give the Senators a number to match.

David Pagnotta: Would guess that the Senators would want slightly more for Stone than what they got for Matt Duchene.

Sportsnet 650: Renaud Lavoie on potential Stone destinations: “I do feel like he will end up in Calgary or Winnipeg. Those 2 teams are on top but lot of rumbling Boston too – that would be interesting because they realize their window is open and send a message to their leaders for 1 last big push.”

Other Senators that are available

David Pagnotta: Aside from Stone and Ryan Dzingel, the Senators could move Cody Ceci, Magnus Paajarvi, Mikkel Boedker, Zack Smith and Bobby Ryan.

Babcock on the deadline

Mark Master: Toronto Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock on the trade deadline.

“For the coaches & the players, we have to do our part to push the GM into helping you … (but) just because you may want somebody doesn’t mean you can afford him”

Kristen Shilton: Babcock said he’s not worried about disrupting their team chemistry.

“If you can improve the team, the guys are all in. They want you to improve the team if you can. We have to do our part to push the GM into helping .”

Blackhawks are organizationally deep on the blueline

Jay Zawaski: With it not looking like defensemen Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook want to go anywhere, and with a Chicago Blackhawks deep on the blueline, have been told that trading one of their top defensive prospects is not off the table – Nicolas Beaudin, Adam Boqvist, Henri Jokiharju and Ian Mitchell.
