Could the Philadelphia Flyers look to move Morgan Frost?

The Fourth Period: Philadelphia Flyers forward Morgan Frost signed a two-year, $4.2 million contract before training camp, but was made a healthy stratch twice last week.

According to multiple sources, the Flyers had made Frost available this past offseason but teams found the price “too high.”

During the offseason, it’s believed the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators showed some interest. There may have been some teams more recently showing some interest as well.

If Frost’s ice time continues to be limited, trade talk could pick up.

There have been no contract extension talks between the New Jersey Devils and Akira Schmid

Ryan Novozinsky of NJ.com: Elliotte Friedman on 32 Thoughts: The Podcast speculated that with the New Jersey Devils history of extending players early, goaltender Akira Schmid could be next up.

Allain Roy, Schmid’s agent, said last week that he hasn’t had any contract extension talks with GM Tom Fitzgerald yet. Schmid will be an RFA after the season.

“It’s a great spot to be,” Schmid said. “We’ve got a great team in front of us. Lots of potential. It’s a good spot for me to learn, grow and get better… I still have one year left, so my focus is on playing hockey and playing the best that I can. I just want to deliver – night in and night out.”
