The Philadelphia Flyers are still thinking big, but not with Michkov
TSN: Darren Dreger said the Philadelphia Flyers are big game hunting and are looking to add a star.
“They’re looking for a star forward or a star defenceman, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.”
Kevin Kurz: Philadelphia Flyers GM Danny Briere said that they did have “some talks” with Matvei Michkov‘s agents about a contract extension before Tuesday’s deadline, but didn’t have much else to say about it.
NHL Rumors: Nikita Kucherov and Tampa Bay Lightning Will Continue to Talk Contract
Tuesday’s CBA deadline didn’t mean much to the New York Rangers
Mollie Walker: New York Ragners GM Chris Drury, when asked if he spoke with Gabriel Perreault, or any of their other young players who are extension-eligible, about signing a long-term deal before the CBA expired on Tuesday night.
“As you all know, I’m not going to get into contract negotiations publicly. All or any conversations I have with players or agents, keep that private. We’re happy with where we’re at. We’re happy with where our roster is at. We’re happy with our cap projections going into this year and in the future. We’re excited to see Gabe and other young players continue to grow, take on more responsibility, earn more responsibility here and have good productive years for us.”
Peter Baugh: Was told on Monday that there hadn’t been any extension talks with Gabe Perreault.
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey has two years left on his deal and loves playing for the Jets
NHL.com: Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey said that he heard about Connor Hellebuyck‘s trade request at the same time as everyone else. Morrissey said he hopes that Hellebuyck would return to their lineup at some point, but has no idea what is going to happen.
“But I don’t know what that’s going to look like. Nobody knows if he’s going to be here or not or what a trade would look like, so I can’t say it makes us worse or whatever. That’s speculation. Obviously, we hope he’s back at some point and playing for us for a long time.”
It’s Doesn’t Feel Like a Connor Hellebuyck Trade is Close to Happening
Morrissey has two years left on his contract at a $6.25 million cap hit, and loves being a Jet.
“At the end of the day, I love being here. I love being a Jet,” he said. “That’s how I’ve always felt, and so that doesn’t change because of somebody else’s decision.”
