On the Detroit Red Wings …
Dan Rosen: Red Wings GM Ken Holland expects to make more moves before the deadline: “We’ve got some players here that are of interest to other teams,”
On the Ottawa Senators …
Bruce Garrioch: The Senators have lots of forwards now, so they could push to move Curtis Lazar. Last night they have an offer for a second round pick, but they are wanting a first.
Wayne Scanlan: With the added depth, will the Senators now trade Lazar for a 2nd round pick?
Bruce Garrioch: GM Pierre Dorion: “Don’t be surprised if nothing else happens. I’m going to try until 2:59 p.m. tomorrow,”
On the Arizona Coyotes …
Joe McDonald: Forward Shane Doan has been talking with GM John Chayka and he’ll only agree to waive his no-trade clause for the perfect fit for both sides. There aren’t many teams interested in the 40-year fourth liner.
“We’ve talked off and on about different things and they’ve been so respectful to me with whatever happens, and it’s been good,” Doan said Tuesday.
On the Winnipeg Jets …
Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun: Forward Drew Stafford knows he’s in the rumor mill, but is doing his best to block it out.
“It’s only natural when you get asked about it, you have to think about it. But for the most part, it’s focusing on doing my job, as far as making sure I’m ready to go and ready to play and help this team win games,” said Stafford.
Stafford could be fit with the Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins and NY Islanders.
It’s unlikely the Jets will make a big move by tomorrow. They could bring in a depth defenseman.
The Jets are five points out with 19 games left. Blake Wheeler:
“If they add a piece to help that, it obviously would be great. But it’s out of our hands. We feel like the group we have right now is good enough to take a run at it.”
