NHL Rumors: Sabres, Habs, Pens, Sens, Blues, Bruins, Wild, Flames, and Avs

Teams calling the Wild about Charlie Coyle. Teams could call the Avs about defenseman Tyson Barrie
On the Buffalo Sabres …

Aivis Kalnins: Have been hearing that the Buffalo Sabres are shopping defenseman Viktor Antipin.

Aivis Kalnins: own speculation but think the Pittsburgh Penguins could be interested. Before he signed with the Sabres, the Penguins were the other team he was considering.

Chris Nichols: Pierre LeBrun last week on TSN 1050: “I’ve spoken to a couple of teams that covet Evander Kane, that intend on making a play for him, and that would like to have him. None of them intend to include a first-round pick in their offer.”

On the Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins, Ottawa Senators, St. Louis Blues, Boston Bruins, Minnesota Wild, Calgary Flames, and Colorado Avalanche …

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet: Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin is being very active on the trade front. He won’t say the Canadiens are going to rebuild. Don’t believe that he would trade Carey Price, Shea Weber or Victor Mete, and unlikely that he’d move Jonathan Drouin.

Other teams active on the trade front include the Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues, Ottawa Senators and watch the Los Angeles Kings.

Teams are calling the Senators about Jean-Gabriel Pageau, including the Penguins. Oilers Mark Letestu is another option at center for the Penguins.

The Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues have looked at Sens winger Mike Hoffman. The Senators have done some due diligence on the injury that Robby Fabbri is out with.

Get the sense that teams are calling the Minnesota Wild about forward Charlie Coyle, but it would take a big offer for the Wild to consider.

The Calgary Flames interest in adding another winger isn’t as much as it once was.

Surprising that there rumors that coach Joel Quenneville could be on the hot seat.

The Avalanche have been on a roll of late and defenseman Tyson Barrie has been out injured. Wouldn’t be a surprise if teams looked at acquiring him.
