NHL Rumors: Scouting TOR-ARI, Kings, Flyers, Senators, Avs, and Rangers

The New York Rangers have been scouting the Colorado Avalanche, who could use someone like Kevin Hayes.
Scouting the Toronto Maple Leafs and Arizona Coyotes

David Pagnotta: There were eight teams listed to attend last night’s Maple Leafs-Coyotes game: Carolina Hurricanes (2), Dallas Stars, Nashville Predators, Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Columbus Blue Jackets.

Kings need offense

Dennis Bernstein: If the Los Angles Kings are going to trade defenseman Jake Muzzin, they have to acquire a forward that has skill and is not a defensive prospect.

Anderson in Philadelphia makes some sense but doesn’t in another

Shawn Simpson: Ottawa Senators goaltender Craig Anderson would be a perfect fit for the Philadelphia Flyers for the next 18 months. The problem with this is that the Flyers have a shot at and wouldn’t mind Jack Hughes, and the Senators don’t really have an option for a starting goaltender at the moment for next season.

Rangers scouting the Avalanche

Mark Kiszla of the Denver Post: The Colorado Avalanche could use some grit and talent if they want to make a playoff push.

New York Rangers center Kevin Hayes is on several teams wish list who are looking for scoring help.

It’s a move the Avs should make, and it’s one that could happen without mortgaging their future.

The Rangers had two scouts at a recent Avs game.

The Avs aren’t going to give up the first-round pick they acquired from the Senators, and it only makes sense if they’d want to sign him long-term.

Would giving up defensive prospect Conor Timmins be too much?

Adrian Dater of BSN Denver: The New York Rangers have been scouting the Colorado Avalanche of late, as well as their AHL team.

The Avalanche are not going to give away their top prospects or draft picks for a short-term rental like Kevin Hayes.

Now if he were to have three or four years left on his deal they might consider parting with a nice draft pick and/or prospect.
