NHL Rumors: Senators, Kings, and Five Players Who Could Be Traded

The Ottawa Senators should trade Matt Duchene. Duchene, along with William Nylander two of five players who could get traded.
The Senators need to move a couple players out

Michael Traikos of the Toronto Sun: A year after the Ottawa Senators traded for Matt Duchene, it’s time for them to trade him.

He’s a pending unrestricted free agent and after the Uber video, the Senators shouldn’t wait until the NHL trade deadline at the end of February.

Chris Wideman is also a pending free agent and was vocal in the video as well. He should be traded too.

Traikos notes that this type of talk about the coaches is normal, but the problem is that it became public. The most troubling part for the Senators was that defenseman Thomas Chabot was there and made his own comments.

The Senators future is Chabot, Brady Tkachuk, Max Lajoie, and Colin White and “you don’t want them developing in a poisonous environment.”

More changes coming in LA?

David Pagnotta: Los Angeles Kings GM Rob Blake could be increasing his effort to make an “impactful roster move.” Blake has been checking out the trade market for weeks to make a roster shakeup.

Dennis Bernstein: (asked about if the Kings would consider including Tyler Toffoli in a William Nylander trade) would make him available. There are too many players in LA who seem a little too comfortable. Changing coaches may not be enough and they could be forcing GM Rob Blake’s hand.

Five players who could be on the move

Michael Traikos of the Toronto Sun:  Looking at five players who could be traded this season

William Nylander – Toronto Maple Leafs – The Maple Leafs will re-sign or trade Nylander by the December 1st deadline. The Carolina Hurricanes have shown the most interest and have defensemen, a position that the Leafs want – Brett Pesce or Jaccob Slavin.

Matt Duchene – Ottawa Senators – The Senators would not be selling low as he’s producing around a point per game. The Los Angles Kings are a team that could use speed and should be interested in him.

Sergei Bobrovsky – Columbus Blue Jackets – He’s not interested in re-signing with the Blue Jackets. The Philadelphia Flyers could be a fit for Bobrovsky.

Tyler Toffoli – Los Angeles Kings – The Kings have made a coaching change already, but further moves may be needed. Toffoli could be a nice fit beside Connor McDavid in Edmonton.

Chris Kreider – New York Rangers – He has a year left on his deal. The Rangers are rebuilding and could trade him for a younger prospect.
