Sharks, Ducks, and Flyers looking at Evander Kane?
Bob McKenzie: Get the sense that the teams that are interested in Buffalo Sabres Evander Kane are not the same ones that are/were after New York Rangers Rick Nash. Teams interested in Kane will want to see what someone pays for Nash. The San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, and to less extent the Philadelphia Flyers have shown interest in Kane.
Bob McKenzie: The Flyers have been on a roll and GM Ron Hextall may want improve their chances. He may not want to pay the high price for a rental though. Some teams, not the Flyers, maybe thinking that Kane could be more than a rental.
Bob McKenzie: When saying teams may be thinking more than a rental for Kane, it doesn’t mean an extension right away. They may see if there is potential long-term fit if all goes well.
Waiting for Nash, and then Kane …
John Shannon: One GM suggested the cost to do business hasn’t been set yet: “I think everyone is waiting for Nash to go, then Kane. After that it will be a scramble.”
Cammarlleri a veteran rental for someone?
Jason Gregor: Forward Mike Cammalleri has ten assists in his past ten games. The Oilers pending UFA should get some interest.
Interest in Tomas Tatar picking up …
Aaron Ward: Hearing that there is significant interest from a number of teams on Detroit Red Wings forward Tomas Tatar.
Jets looking towards Buffalo?
Elliotte Friedman: On potential depth left-handed defenseman for the Winnipeg Jets is Buffalo Sabres Viktor Antipin. Anitpin has played under Paul Maurice in the KHL.
Joe Yerdon: The Jets scouted the Sabres often, including their European scout once.
Joe Yerdon: Being on the scouting list doesn’t mean the person was there, and it doesn’t always mean there is a connection, but it’s possible that something could happen.
