NHL Rumors: Scouting CHI-PHI, Shipachyov, Bruins, Senators, Kings and Blue Jackets

The Los Angeles aren't looking to move Alec Martinez or Jake Muzzin for scoring help anymore.
Scouting the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers …

Adam Kimelman: Scouts listed to attend last night’s Blackhawks – Flyers game: Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, Boston Bruins, Vegas Golden Knights, Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, Washington Capitals, Dallas Stars, Columbus Blue Jackets and Detroit Red Wings.

On Vadim Shipachyov

Pierre LeBrun: All sides have signed off on Vadim Shipachyov’s voluntary retirement from the NHL.

Aivis Kalnins: Shipachyov has multiple KHL options.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Darren Dreger: Teams have called the Senators about Nick Paul. Might be time for the Senators to see if he’s a fit for them and if not, could be used as an asset for another piece.

On the Boston Bruins and Ottawa Senators …

Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic: Source is saying that the Bruins are looking for a top-nine forward.

Have to think that the Senators will try to sign Matt Duchene to a contract extension as soon as they are eligible to – July 1st. Senators GM Pierre Dorion has a good relationship with Duchene’s agent Pat Brisson.

On the Los Angeles Kings and Columbus Blue Jackets …

TSN Insider Trading: Pierre LeBrun: Heading into the start of the season there had been some internal talk with the Los Angeles Kings and if they’d have enough scoring. Would they have to trade one of Jake Muzzin or Alec Martinez to get a top-six forward? Can pretty much forget that now. They are top 10 in scoring and will keep their top-four defense intact.

Pierre LeBrun: The Columbus Blue Jackets were interested in Matt Duchene, and feel they made a pretty good offer for him. They would still like to add a top-two center or at the very least a top-six forward. Teams are calling the Blue Jackets about their defense as they are eight deep. Ryan Murray was in the Duchene talks, but it doesn’t mean they are shopping him. They are ready to move a defenseman and could use some help up front.
