NHL Rumors: Scouting FLA-CGY, Blues, Canadiens, Kings, Rangers, and Bruins

The St. Louis Blues have inquired about Montreal Canadiens winger Max Pacioretty

Scouting on the Florida Panthers and Calgary Flames …

David Pagnotta: Scouts listed to attend last night’s Panthers-Flames game: Montreal Canadians, Arizona Coyotes, Vegas Golden Knights, Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Philadelphia Flyers, and Minnesota Wild.

On the St. Louis Blues and Montreal Canadiens …

Louis Jean: Have been told that the Blues have inquired about Canadiens winger Max Pacioretty. notes that the Blues have prospects like Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou that could interest the Canadiens. Would the Blues be willing to move either of those?

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Rick Dhaliwal: Canucks GM Jim Benning on the trade deadline: “a big forward with physicality, who can make plays.”

Rick Dhaliwal: Canucks GM Benning on the contract talks with Erik Gudbranson: “We are going to continue to talk this week, trying to figure out what that looks like.”

On the Los Angeles Kings …

Dennis Bernstein: (asked about trading Tanner Pearson) “Here’s the question on Pearson – if he’s a solid LW3, can LAK afford to carry him at 3.75M hit? Or do you go younger/cheaper in that spot and find a 5/6M LW using 70 in package.”

On the Boston Bruins …

Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston: Ryan McDonagh would be an intriguing option for at least a dozen teams including the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins.

thinks the Bruins should only trade for McDonagh if they can ‘steal’ him from the Rangers. If it takes Jakub Zboril, Anders Bjork, and a first-round pick, then the Bruins should do it.

Rangers GM Jeff Gorton will look to maximize his return. There have been “whispers” that Lightning defenseman Mikhail Sergachev would be in play.

Charlie McAvoy is untouchable for the Bruins, so the names of Jake DeBrusk, Danton Heinen and Brandon Carlo will come up.
