On the Calgary Flames …
Pierre LeBrun of ESPN: Flames GM Brad Treliving on goaltending.
“We’re in a bunch of different markets on that, so we’ll see how it goes,” he added more seriously.
Options could be Ben Bishop, Marc-Andre Fleury or Brian Elliott.
The rules for the expansion draft will help the Flames as teams can only protect one goalie.
“Yeah, that’s a fair statement, that’s fair,” Treliving said, smiling. “It’s a balancing act of timing, it’s a balancing act of acquisition cost, it’s all those types of things. You’ve seen it in the market so far. There’s deals that have been done because of expansion coming . I expect there will be more, but when those happen, we’ll see.”
The Penguins asking price for Fleury is believed to be too high for the Flames. Concern for the Flames with regards to Bishop would be the cost to acquire and if they could extend him.
Dreger on Brad Treliving: “It sure sounds like he’s looking at Ben Bishop real hard.”

Nothing has been formalized to this point, but the probability of MIN buying out Tomas Vanek in the next couple of days appears quite high.
