David Krejci needs a left winger and internal candidates include DeBrusk, Danton Heinen, Peter Cehlarik, and Anders Bjork (if he goes pro).
Is MacIntyre and improvement over Anton Khudobin?
The Bruins are well stocked in right-handed defensemen, and may normally not want to trade someone like Colin Miller, but the expansion draft may force their hand. If the Bruins protect Chara, Krug and Kevan Miller, they may want to move Colin Miller instead of potentially losing him for nothing.
The Bruins could look to trade for a left handed defenseman from someone who doesn’t want to lose one for nothing to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Minnesota Wild – If the Wild protect seven forwards and three defense, they would likely be exposing Jonas Brodin and Marco Scandella.
San Jose Sharks – Protecting Brent Burns, Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Paul Martin would expose Brendan Dillon.
New York Islanders – The Islanders are likely to protect Nick Leddy, Travis Hamonic and Johnny Boychuk, which would expose Calvin de Haan. de Haan will be an arbitration eligible RFA.
Washington Capitals – Vegas could be eyeing Capitals defenseman Nate Schmidt and Caps GM Brian MacLellan doesn’t want to lose him. The Caps will have to protect Matt Niskanen, Dmitry Orlov and John Carlson.
