On the Vancouver Canucks …
Jason Botchford of the Vancouver Province: The Canucks have Jacob Markstrom locked up for another four years. With Ryan Miller being a free agent after next season, the Canucks will have to add a goalie before next June so that they have one who would be left unprotected for the Expansion draft. They could extend AHL goalie Richard Bachman for another year. The Canucks could also trade Miller and acquire a goalie in the deal that is signed for 2017-18.
Aivis Kalnins: Reports are that the Canucks are interested in Vadim Shipachov, though it’s not known yet if he’s actually leaving the KHL.
News 1130 Sports: Jiri Hudler‘s agent, Petr Svoboda said yesterday that he would check with the Canucks about Hudler and another client.
