The Maple Leafs were on Mason Marchment’s no-trade list

NHL Rumour Report: On Mason Marchment on the FAN Hockey Show back on December 23rd.

Mike Futa: “I had heard that he had a no-move clause with regards to Toronto.”

Elliotte Friedman: “I believe that’s true, he has a partial no-trade, I heard Columbus was not on it, he didn’t have to waive to go there.”

NHL Rumors: Could Morgan Rielly’s Name Pop Up Again if Things Continue to go Sideways

The Winnipeg Jets’ issues run deeper than one trade could fix

Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press: The Winnipeg Jets continue to struggle and are on the outside looking in. There were reports that they kicked tires on Mason Marchment before he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a second and fourth. If they continue to fall, a top pick in this year’s draft wouldn’t hurt.

It doesn’t appear that there is one trade that would fix this team’s issues, as their problems run deeper. The Jets may be better off being sellers and buyers and recoup some assets from prior years.

The Jets have some players in the AHL that could be given a better shot on the main roster – Brad Lambert, Nikita Chibrikov, Parker Ford and Elias Salomonsson.
