David Schoen: James Neal conintued: “Honestly I just want to win. I want to be part of a great team. I want to have fun coming to the rink every day. I got that here, so, whatever it takes, hopefully we can work something out.”

David Schoen: Pending unrestricted free agent David Perron: “We had a good conversation throughout the year. Didn’t get to a result, but I appreciate how much they want me to stay here, too. We’ll see how it goes. That’s the business side of things. … I want to be a part of this group again, for sure.”

Jesse Granger: Perron on free agency: “I love it here and I want to stay.”

David Schoen: General Manager George McPhee on KHL MVP Nikita Gusev: “He’s got another year on his deal and then we’ll see what we can do. He’s a talented guy and we’ll do what we can to get him here. We’ve talked to him, and we’ll continue to talk to him.”

Chris Nichols of FRS Hockey: Bob McKenzie was on TSN 1260 talking about the Vegas Golden Knights and how they can use their salary cap space and go “big game hunting.” They could check in on John Tavares, John Carlson and Erik Karlsson.

“So I think they’re wide open for business. I think they’re going to be aggressive and use the tools that they’ve got right now and the basis of the year that they had to not behave like an expansion franchise and get in on all of the big boys if they can.”
