  • Jeff Gordon of the St. Louis Post Dispatch: The Blues will be looking for offense this offseason, likely through the trade market. Senators Jason Spezza is looking for a fresh start. The Ottawa Sun said the Senators could look at Patrick Berglund. The Sens want a first round pick, with the Blues holding No. 21. Ryan Kesler could also be an option. Vincent Lecavalier could be a fallback option. The Flyers won’t get much in return for Lecavalier. CSN Philly said that the Predators, Senators, Panthers, Stars and Flames could be landing spots for Lecavalier.
  • Bob McKenzie: The Bruins are another team that has eight NHL defenseman, and are likely to move at least one of them. Re-signing Jarome Iginla is a priority and will affect what other moves they can do.
  • Hope Smoke: Darren Dreger: “The Panthers are still shopping that 1st overall pick. Doesn’t mean they’re going to move it, but Tallon is taking offers”
  • Chuck Gormley: Capitals GM Brian MacLellan said they could move up or back from their No. 13 draft slot.
  • Josh Cooper: Predators GM David Poile said if the Predators were to trade their first round pick, it would be for a top six forward.
  • Chuck Gormley: Capitals GM Brian MacLellan said they will try to get Mike Green back on track rather than trading him.
  • Bob McKenzie: Under the right circumstances, it is believed that Hurricanes Cam Ward would waive his no-trade clause. He is available.
  • Jim Matheson: Oilers GM Craig MacTavish said that getting back into the second and third round won’t be easy as teams are more willing to give them up at the trade deadline.
