Host: “I jump back to (Steven) Stamkos, because you guys were discussing Stamkos. To me, do you think Stamkos, his game has kind of tailed off a bit with his age? He was a goal scorer. Goal scorers at later stages, you see the numbers dip unless your name is Alex Ovechkin.

But if he’s put in the right place, does he have to go somewhere that actually has to be the perfect fit, or can he could just go anywhere and actually help?”
Anthony DiMarco: “I mean, I think he could always help in some way. I mean, like, Nashville is just, like when your little brother took control of your Be a GM mode and screwed everything up on July 1 while you were at school, or something. Like, that’s how I feel. Like what Barry Ttrotz did to the Nashville Predators and not trying to throw shade at them, even though I’m fully throwing shade at them, because there’s a lot of good people who work in that organization.
But you just signed Steven Stamkos when he was probably the stylistically the player you needed the least. But you look around the NHL, and if you put Steven Stamkos on the wing of a creative centerman, I really think that there’s potential here for him to score a lot of goals.
Like with Montreal. Like, I wonder about that bit, because you have Nick Suzuki, but Cole Caufield already kind of playing that role on that line and beyond that. Do they have a creative centerman to do that? I’ve often wondered about Toronto. Like, would it work with him and potentially William Nylander and John Tavares? I think that could be a pretty creative line.
And then you look at more around the NHL, like, I just think that you have to put him with a creative facilitator down the middle, or someone on his line who could get him the puck. And I think that has been the problem with Nashville. That is by far their weakest position is the center ice, with the likes of it being Ryan O’ Reilly or the young kids like Fedor Svechkov, I believe his name is.
NHL Rumors: New Jersey Devils Interested in Ryan O’Reilly
They just don’t have that talent down the middle to help Stamkos really elevate his place. So, for any team acquiring Stamkos, I’m sure you could help in some capacity, but just make sure you have a strong center-ice group and a centerman who can assist from his game.
