NHL Trade: Calgary Flames and Carolina Hurricanes Make A Big Trade

Noah Hanifin and Elias Lindholm

The Carolina Hurricanes trade forward Elias Lindholm and defenseman Noah Hanifin to the Calgary Flames for defenseman Dougie Hamilton, forward Micheal Ferland and defenseman Adam Fox.

The 23-year old Lindholm was drafted 5th overall in the 1st round of the  2013 draft by the Hurricanes. He’s a pending restricted free agent.

The 21-year old Hanifin was drafted 5th overall in the 1st round of the  2015 draft by the Hurricanes. He’s a pending restricted free agent.

The 25-year old Hamilton was drafted 9th overall in the 1st round of the  2011 draft by the Boston Bruins. He carries a $5.75 million cap hit.

The 26-year old Ferland was drafted 133rd overall in the 5th round of the 2010 draft by the Flames. He carries a $1.75 million salary cap hit.

The 20-year old Fox was 66th drafted overall in the 3rd round of the  2016 draft by the Flames. He is not signed yet.
