Coyotes Close to Acquiring Bolland And Crouse From Panthers

David Bolland traded to the Arizona Coyotes

The Florida Panthers are reportedly working on a David Bolland and Lawson Crouse trade to the Arizona Coyotes for a conditional second round pick and a third round pick according to Elliotte Friedman.

Craig Custance: If Crouse doesn’t play with the Coyotes this season, the second round pick becomes a third round pick.

Elliotte Friedman: “ARIZ, for taking Bolland contract, gets Crouse, a good prospect. Believe the higher pick will be whichever is better of ARIZ/DET 2nd in 2017”

The 19-year old Lawson Crouse was drafted 11th overall in the 1st round of the 2015 draft.

Thoughts from the media …

General Fanager: “Bolland’s $5.5M cap hit is a possible LTIR candidate, but #FLAPanthers no doubt wanted to avoid an overage ($1.42M from Ekblad this year).”

Harvey Fialkov: “Creates huge salary cap space for Panthers for free agency next year and for expansion draft moves”

Harvey Fialkov: “In long run this could keep Petrovic here because he may have been unprotected.Panthers can offer him long-term deal to scare Vegas away”

Harvey Fialkov: “The Panthers will receive the better or higher pick between Ariz and Detroit’s third next year.”

Harvey Fialkov: “The Panthers will save Bolland’s $5.5 million per over next 3 years”

Cap Friendly: “Arizona now sits at $70,652,125 giving them roughly $2.3M in space. However, current lineup shows $6,345,938 in Potential Perf Bonuses.”

Mark Lazerus: “So three of Arizona’s six highest-paid players are Pavel Datsyuk, Dave Bolland and Chris Pronger.”

Steve Kournianos: “Crouse didnt have a good season but power forwards can be up-and-down like that. Huberdeau hits RFA after the season”

Rory Boylen: “I mean, I get it from Florida’s perspective. Dumping Bolland’s contract is nice. Just expensive to send out Crouse, 11th overall in 2015.”

Martin Biron: “Another move I don’t like by FLA. Giving up Lawson Crouse is going to be a mistake. 6’04” and 210 lbs and he keeps getting better every year”

Carolyn Wilke: “I think the Panthers get the better of this deal, if only for the long-term implications of that $5.5m cap hit. Like it for both, though.”

Harvey Fialkov: “It might’ve been tough for Crouse to make the team this year after trades for Sceviour and Marchessault.”
