NHL Trade: Penguins Trade Brassard, Sheahan, and Picks To The Panthers For Bjugstad and McCann

The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded forwards Derick Brassard and Riley Sheahan, a 2019 2nd round pick and two 2019 4th round picks to the Florida Panthers for forwards Nick Bjugstad and Jared McCann.

One of the 4th round-draft picks belonged to the Minnesota Wild.

The 31-year old Brassard was drafted 6th overall in the 2006 draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Brassard carries a $3 million salary cap hit through the end of this season and will be UFA.

The 27-year old Sheahan was drafted 21st overall in the 2010 draft by the Detroit Red Wings. Sheahan carries a $2.1 million salary cap hit through the end of this season and will be UFA.

The 26-year old Bjugstad was drafted 19th overall in the 2010 draft by the Florid Panthers. Bjugstad carries a $4.1 million salary cap hit through 2020-21.

The 22-year old McCann was drafted 24th overall in the 2014 draft by the Vancouver Canucks. McCann carries a $1.25 million salary cap hit through 2019-20.
