Darnell Nurse suspended for three games for being an aggressor in a fight with Roman Polak

The NHL has suspended Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse for three games for being the aggressor in an altercation with San Jose Sharks defenseman Roman Polak.

Rule 46.2 Aggressor: “The aggressor in an altercation shall be the player who continues to throw punches in an attempt to inflict punishment on his opponent who is in a defenseless position or who is an unwilling combatant.”

Nurse doesn’t have a history of supplementary discipline. Polak as injured on the play.

Colorado Avalanche winger Gabriel Landeskog has been suspended for three games for cross-checking Anahein Ducks defenseman Simon Despres.

Landeskog is a repeat offender. Despres suffered no apparent injury
