Pronger’s injury … Free agent Weber … Cox thinks Leafs should go after Bryzgalov … NHL Sources Say Video

Tim Panaccio of CSNPHilly: Flyers GM Paul Holmgren says that Chris Pronger is still day-to-day with his hand injury, and has been wearing a removable cast. He has now missed 3 games due to the injury, but expects to play on Tuesday. The playoffs are 14 games away for them, but the Flyers say they are not worried.
Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: Matheson wonders if the Oilers would send Shea Weber an offer sheet this off-season if he doesn’t re-sign with the Predators before that. They have plenty of cap space and extra 1st rounder this year. Weber could also re-sign with the Predators for 1 year, and become a UFA after next year. If he becomes a UFA next year, Detroit could be interested with Lidstom possibly retiring. Comparable for Weber are Brent Seabrook’s $5.8 million cap hit (5 year, $29 million) and Duncan Keith’s $5.5 million cap hit (13 years, $72 million).
Damian Cox of the Toronto Star: Cox thinks that James Reimer may not be ready to be the Maple Leafs number 1 goalie next year as he has let in some soft goals lately, and that the should go after UFA Ilya Bryzgalov.
Darren Dreger of TSN: A reader asks Dreger why the Red Wings didn’t really do anything at the deadline. In the weeks leading up to the trade deadline Ken Holland looked around to see what was available, but found that the price was too high or didn’t match their needs. Holland initially had some concerns with the number of scoring chances Detroit was giving up and subsequently, his teams goals against, but true to form, he wasn’t interested in a quick fix, or snap decision and vowed in the days leading up to the trade deadline, to monitor his team closely.
