Quick Hits: Injury Updates, Fox Wants Elsewhere, and Playoff Races

Zach Parise: Will he or won't he play this week?
Troy Terry Suffers Broken Leg

Elliott Teaford: Anaheim Ducks forward Troy Terry will be out for the rest of the regular season after suffering a broken tibia.

Drake Caggiula went thru concussion protocol

Charlie Roumeliotis: Chicago Blackhawks forward Drake Caggiula headed to concussion protocol on Monday night. This was after being pummeled by Dustin Byfuglien. List him as day-to-day for now.

Paul Stastny out with an undisclosed injury

Jesse Granger: Las Vegas coach Gerard Gallant thought Paul Stastny would be a game-time decision due to an undisclosed injury. However, he was scratched on Monday night and did not play against the Edmonton Oilers.

Parise out with a lower-body injury but could play

Jessi Pierce: With the Minnesota Wild season hanging by a thread, the Zach Parise injury has caused him to miss over a week now. What was deemed minor does not sound so minor. Parise characterized his status as such.

“I don’t know. I felt like I could (play) today, so we’ll see how it goes,” Parise said. “We’ll talk to the trainers today and tomorrow morning. But today was the best it’s felt since it happened, so that’s good.”

Again, this is truly a wait and see scenario. If Minnesota is eliminated, then this is a moot point.

Andreas Johnsson sat but Jake Muzzin played

Jonas Siegel: Forward Andreas Johnsson was held out of Monday night’s game against the New York Islanders due to illness. Jake Muzzin played on Monday after also suffering from illness earlier on Monday.

Hurricanes to seek trading Adam Fox

Pierre LeBrun: The Carolina Hurricanes have decided they will try to trade Adam Fox after Fox decides not to sign in Carolina. Carolina is looking at its options and the New York Rangers remain a strong possibility.
