Injury updates

Adam Kimelman: Philadelphia Flyers injury updates.

Defenseman Andy Welinski is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
Forward Tyler Pitlick is week-to-week after wrist surgery.
Forward Nolan Patrick is week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
Forward Kurtis Gabriel is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Sabres PR: Buffalo Sabres defenseman Brandon Montour will miss the rest of the preseason with a hand injury. An update will come at the end of training camp.

Forward Scott Wilson and defenseman Casey Fitzgerald are both listed as day-to-day with lower-body injuries.

David Schoen: The Vegas Golden Knights held William Karlsson out of the third period last night as a precaution.

Coach Gerard Gallant said that if it were a regular season game Karlsson would have stayed in. He is expected to practice today.

Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: St. Louis Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist tweaked something in his upper-body and didn’t practice yesterday.

Robert Thomas practiced with the main group. He had offseason wrist surgery and is making good progress.

Jordan Kyrou will be skating on his own for a bit and likely won’t be ready for the start of the season.

Flames release Gryba

Wes Gilbertson: The Calgary Flames have released defenseman Eric Gryba from his PTO.

Laine talks to Little

Jamie Thomas: Patrik Laine and Bryan Little exchanged text messages and spoke on the phone for a few minutes. Laine apologized for the comments made to the Finnish newspaper.
