No Seattle hires imminent
Alex Prewitt: Seattle GM Ron Francis said they don’t have any new hockey ops hirings imminent, but they are “going through a boatload of resumes.”
Francis said that hiring an assistant GM, analytics staff, and four or five scouts are his priorities.
Wild sign one, three to go
Minnesota Wild: The Wild have re-signed defenseman Hunter Warner to a one-year, two-way contract. He’ll get $700,000 in the NHL and $80,000 in the minors.
Michael Russo: The Wild now have three remaining restricted free agents left to sign – Kevin Fiala, Joel Eriksson Ek, and Louie Belpedio.
Penguins sign a recent trade acquisition
Cap Friendly: The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed defenseman John Marino to a two-year entry-level deal. The Penguins acquired his rights from the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers will now receive a 2021 6th round pick.
Blue Jackets bring back Dano
Aaron Portzline of The Athletic: The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed forward Marko Dano to a one-year, two-way contract.
Dano will get $800,000 in the NHL and $300,000 in the minors with $350,000 guaranteed.
Canucks coach Green on Eriksson and Boeser … Juolevi’s rehab going well
Rick Dhaliwal: Vancouver Canucks head coach Travis Green on Loui Eriksson: “I was surprised and disappointed his comments were public. Is he frustrated, I’m sure he is.
