Girardi retires
TSN: Defenseman Dan Girardi announced his retirement from the NHL. He was a free agent.
Girardi played in 927 career games for the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning.
DeAngelo signs
Frank Seravalli: The New York Rangers have re-signed RFA defenseman Anthony DeAngelo to a one-year contract at $925,000.
