- Greg Brady via twitter: “Nash overpaid? Yes. Overrated? Yes. Sather going to be disappointed? Yes. Does CBJ look Mickey Mouse getting only this after 5 months? YES.”
- Dan Tencer via twitter: “As one-sided as the trade is (and it really is), I think much of the criticism of Howson is unfair. He had an impossible circumstance here. “

#CBJ took long time & I believe that compressed the market (teams) & value in return compensation.”

- Doug Maclean via twitter: “If these names are right this is a disaster for cbj.”
- Todd Cordell via twitter: “Nash wanted out and CBJ had to trade him. Every GM knew that and wouldn’t give top assets. Why are people surprised at this deal? “
- Anthony SanFilippo via twitter: “That said, terrible return for Columbus… just terrible. Poor Jackets fans.”
- James Gordon via twitter: “You know, for all the Howson-bashing going on, the market decided Nash’s price. Still feel he is way, way overrated.”
- Dan Rosen via twitter: “The return Columbus got for Nash if the reported trade goes down seems fair, but they all have to pan out for it to really work for CBJ.”
- James Cybulski via twitter: “How does it take Carolina and Pitt 24 hours to make a fair Staal deal, and yet the Nash trade takes 5 months to agree on that package? “
- Bruce Garrioch via twitter: “The Jackets needed to a hit a home run with this deal. This is not a home run. They had better offers at the trade deadline.”
