The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded defenseman Rob Scuderi to the Chicago Blackhawks for defenseman Trevor Daley.

The 36-year old Scuderi was drafted 134th overall in the 5th round in the 1998 draft by the Penguins.

The 32-year old Daley was drafted 43rd overall in the 2nd round in the 2002 draft by the Dallas Stars.

Bob McKenzie: The Penguins retain $1.125 million in salary/cap hit.

David Pagnotta: Daley carries a $3.3 million cap hit – $3.1 million this year and $2.7 million next year. Scuderi carries a $3.375 million – $3 million salary this year and $2.5 million next year.

General Fanager: If the Blackhawks were to buyout Scuderi this summer, the cap hits over the next two years – Blackhawks: $1.138 million, $555,000 Penguins: $569,000, $277,000
