The San Jose Sharks have acquired Brent Burns and a 2012 2nd round pick from the Minnesota Wild for Devin Setoguchi, Charlie Coyle and a 2011 1st round pick (28th overall). The Wild selected Zack Phillips from Saint John with the pick.
Devin Setoguchi just signed a 3 year, $9 million contract yesterday with the Sharks.
LeBurn tweeted that he got a text from Sharks GM Doug Wilson that said he did NOT know that he’d be trading Setoguchi yesterday when they re-signed him.
Burns will be a UFA after next season, and the Wild may have figured they would not be able to give Burns the money he wanted.
