Blues looking for scoring … Kane out weeks … Samuelsson has ‘mild’ concussion … What the Stars may want from the Rangers for Richards

Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post Dispatch: St. Louis Blues GM Doug Armstrong has been looking to make a trade, even before Andy MacDonald suffered his upper body injury. The Blues are missing 3 of their top 6 forwards. “I would say over the last couple of weeks, I’ve touched base with all the teams to find out what they’re thinking, what’s going on,” Armstrong said. “At this point, I know some things I’d like to accomplish, and if we can find a willing partner, then I think we’ll have to explore some changes. We’re not getting the results we need to right now and when that happens, potential changes can come.” The Blues will be looking for a scoring forward, and will likely have to move a defenseman. Eric Brewer and Barret Jackman have no trade clauses, and teams may target Erik Johnson, Alex Pietrangelo and Ian Cole.
Chric Kuc of the Chicago Tribune: It’s looking like Patrick Kane will be out weeks after hurting his left leg on Sunday. No official update was given.
Iain MacIntrye of the Vancouver Sun: Canucks forward Mikael Samuelsson will be out at least a week with a ‘mild’ concussion. Mason Raymond returned practiced after missing a game with the flu.
Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News: The Flyers have been granted permission by the NHL for Michael Leighton to have an extended AHL rehab stint for 2 more games. The Flyers won’t have to make a roster decision for another week.
Mike Hieka of the Dallas Morning News: If the Dallas Stars were to trade Brad Richards to the NY Rangers, they’ll likely target centerman or defenseman. The Rangers have Michael Del Zotto, Marc Staal or Dan Girardi on the point, and centers Derek Stepan and Brandon Dubinsky.
John Vogl of the Buffalo News: Sabres forward Drew Stafford has missed 12 of the last 13 games with a shoulder injury. He played Friday but left after taking a hit. He briefly skated yesterday but wasn’t able to go last night. Tim Connolly has missed 6 games with a groin injury.
