Bruce Garrioch via twitter: The Senators and Chris Phillips will continue to talk today, both sides will need to figure out if the gap can be closed. If it’s decided that he won’t be re-signing, options are for him to waive his no trade clause, or finish out the year with the Sens. Garrioch thinks it’s going to be an 11th hour decision. Darren Dreger adds that if the Senators offer just over $3 million for 3 years, Phillips would take it.
Eric Francis of the Calgary Sun: From a Dean Lombardi (Kings GM) text, “Brayden Schenn is not going anywhere,” The Kings are still looking at Ales Hemsky and Brad Richards. Andrei Loktionov who was possible trade bait injured his shoulder and could be done for the year. The Colorado Avalanche told the Calgary Sun that they won’t trade Paul Stastny. Adam Foote and Milan Hejduk will be staying as well. Canucks GM Mike Gillis confirmed that he won’t be trading Cory Schneider or Cody Hodgson. He’ll be looking for a 3rd-4th liner, not a defenseman, John Maddon isn’t a fit due to salary. The Flames are looking for a depth defenseman. Agent Pat Brisson on Sidney Crosby, “We don’t know if it’s two weeks, two months or five months.” Jim Vandermeer and Ladislav Smid are more likely to move than Dustin Penner and Ales Hemsky.
David Pagnotta via twitter: “Take it for what it’s worth… but Kings GM Dean Lombardi says he won’t trade Brayden Schenn.”
EJ Hradek via twitter: Hradek thinks it’s doubtful that the Lightning put a claim on Ty Conklin.
Detroit Free Press: ESPN reported that there was some chatter that the Red Wings were interested in Zach Bogosian. Wings GM Ken Holland said he has never talked to Atlanta.
Daniel Tolensky via twitter: Tolensky is surprised that Patrick Elias rumors haven’t come up at all, and that he’d look good beside Kopitar.
David Pagnotta via twitter: Pagnotta thinks the Canadiens will try to re-sign Andre Markov, Josh Gorges, and James Wisniewski.

Jim Morris of the Globe and Mail: The Canucks won’t be making a big deal. “I don’t think we have any glaring deficiencies,” Gillis said Saturday, “We think we did a fairly good job and our record seems to indicate we’ve done a good job. Sometimes at the trade deadline you simply don’t have the opportunity to do things. If there is something we can do to improve our team now, it if comes our way and it makes sense, we’re going to do it.” They may look to add one of Marty Reasoner (FLA), Rob Niedermayer (BUF), Chris Neil (OTT) or Cody McLeod (COL).
Harvey Fialkov of the Sun Sentinel: Fialkov thinks that the Panthers will look to re-sign Marty Reasoner, and that Stephen Weiss could be the next captain.
Vicki Hall of the Calgary Herald: Flames winger Niklas Hagman has the flu but should be good for today. Tim Jackman has an upper body injury from a fight with Ryane Clowe and is day-to-day. Daymond Langkow is progressing and is taking part in light workouts.
